Puppy Jump Start is a seven (7) week long series of classes where approximately half of the class time
concentrates on socializing young dogs, with puppies matched for age and play style. The remaining class time is

exercises and resource guarding prevention exercises. Each puppy receives "The Ultimate Puppy Tool Kit" as a reference guide.

Basic Obedience
The Basic Obedience curriculum is a seven (7) week long sequential series of
group classes. It teaches the dog how to be a welcome and appreciated
home companion. This course of "canine good manners" is many
dogs' first experience with formal training. The material that dogs
and handlers learn in Basic Obedience is the foundation on which any further
trick, agility or obedience training builds. Basic Obedience lessons
cover "Sit," "Stay," "Down," "Come When
Called," "Walk on a Leash Without Pulling," "Do Not Jump
on People" and "Pay Attention to Your Handler."

Puppy Basic Obedience

a regular basic class.

Beyond Basic
Beyond Basic is a seven-week course designed for dogs and their handlers
who have completed a basic obedience course or who already know sit, down,
stand, stay, come, and heel. The course is intended to come after Basic Obedience
but before Novice Obedience for those dogs & handlers that aren't quite ready for
Novice but need something more challenging than repeating Basic. Approximately half of the class time is devoted to improving and polishing those skills. The other half is devoted to learning
new skills such as targeting, jumping, and the foundations of retrieving, while
introducing competition basics for obedience, rally obedience, or CGC testing.

Kid's Basic Obedience
The Kid's Basic Obedience curriculum is a seven (7) week long sequential series of
group classes (each class is 45 minutes). Similar to Basic Obedience for adults, it teaches the dog how to
be a welcome and appreciated home companion. It also teaches the child handler how to instruct and handle the dog. The material that dogs
and handlers learn in Kid's Basic Obedience is the foundation on which any further
trick, agility or obedience training builds. Kid's Basic Obedience lessons
cover "Sit," "Stay," "Down," "Come When
Called," "Walk on a Leash Without Pulling," "Do Not Jump
on People" and "Pay Attention to Your Handler." Children must be
accompanied by an adult at all times.

Novice Obedience
The Novice Obedience curriculum is also a seven (7) week series
of group classes. The Novice sessions are typically more like a workshop
than a lecture, and the same skills are practiced in every session. This
gives the Novice student the flexibility to attend any seven (7) classes that
fit his or her schedule. Novice Obedience assumes a mastery of the skills
covered in the Basic Obedience class and adds new skills like "Long Sits
and Downs," "Off-Lead Heeling," "Figure Eights,"
"Hand Signals" and "Off-Lead Recalls."

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Therapy Dog International Class (TDI)
This is a four (4) week course
that concentrates on teaching the skills needed to achieve both the American Kennel
Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and the Therapy Dog International (TDI) certificates.
The CGC program is designed to reward dogs who
have good manners at home and in public. The purpose of the CGC program is
to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be an accepted and respected
member of the community.
The TDI part of the program teaches three primary skills:
1) Sitting to be pet or placed in a a lap for petting.
2) "Leave" It"
3) Reaction to: Wheelchair, walker, cane, medical equipment, etc.
To receive either CGC or TDI certification, dogs must take the respective CGC/TDI test. These exams are not part of the class and there are extra (nominal) fees to take them. The availability of these exams should be discussed with your instructor.
